Leah Boyd held a love for painting since pre-school, a passion nurtured by her parents through enrollments in various locally run art classes growing up. She took a hiatus from creating art and in the meantime, pursued degrees in art history and computer science. At the beginning of 2025, she rediscovered her love for painting, an experience that felt like reconnecting with her younger self. While her primary medium is water soluble oils, she enjoys experimenting with acrylic inks and oil pastels.

Leah’s current work explores the domestic. Funky chairs, food, and the family dog often find their way into her paintings. These elements work together to create intimate, imagined interiors. Color and textural brushstrokes add vibrancy and movement to otherwise quiet, unassuming moments frozen in time. She hopes her work evokes a sense of familiarity and warmth, where food conjures memory and the mischievous pet embodies the everyday humor of home life.
